Ajax requests, through MVC Framework (e.g. ColdBox) or not?

Sorry for cross posting, but would CB experts please chime in there?
I wonder if one should do ajax request through CB or bypass CB and
fire directly to a CFC remote proxy.

I always use CB proxy.
So yes through ColdBox. This way you can do e.g. security checks,
logging or fire other related events.

Not only for ajax, but for Flex as well.
