Thread: ColdBox proxy usage and limitations (powering multple related Flex apps?)

User: TheDriver Luis,

I am building a project that has multiple html and flex application
interfaces. I have been using the ColdBox proxy as the sole access point for
all the Flex apps into the common model cfcs (outside ColdBox) and the CF state
variables. It's been nice having ColdBox apply common logging and security (and
hopefully soon caching) on the model in both the html and Flex-specific event
handlers. It has also made the Flex model simpler as all the PureMVC Proxies
use a single ColdBox Business Delegate for remote access.

Recently someone
mentioned that you had recommended against using the ColdBox proxy to fully
power Flex applications. Could you comment on how you see the proxy being used
and on any issues you see with using it as the sole remote access point for one
or more Flex apps?

I'd also appreciate anyone else's feedback. I'm still
trying to learn the "right" way on all of this. Also some CF developer friends
have asked me to show them this stuff and I don't want to pass on bad
information/advice.

Thanks,

Chris
