Who wants to be the first person to host their blog on a farm of Raspberry Pi’s? The entire set up, installation, and server could be automated in a single recipe
Thanks!
~Brad
… says the guy with a server farm of Mac minis. Come on, I know you’re thinking about it!!
Thanks!

hahaha it would be fun to try! i have a 50mb pipe to my office - maybe i’ll hook up a half dozen and see what it does!
I got my Raspberry Pi in the mail this week. After beating my head against SD card issues for about 3 hours, once I got Raspbian up, CommandBox ran flawlessly. (I just downloaded the binary and threw it in /usr/bin) Pis come preloaded with an ARM-compat version of Oracle Java. I have a ColdBox site AND a ContentBox CMS site (using an in-memory H2 database) running that only took a few minutes to create and start with the package management and embedded server in CommandBox.
It’s sitting on my desk now with just power and Wifi adapter since I can SSH into it. I’m really tempted to open a port on my routers firewall and point a domain at it
Thanks!
~Brad
open it! lets load test it haha
You asked for it

its pretty peppy! i might give it a try as well
Yeah, CommandBox takes a couple extra seconds to start, but once it’s up it’s pretty fast. 1GB Ram and a quad-core 900MHz CPU. I have it mildly overclocked right now to 1GHz
Thanks!

What did you purchase your Pi from? I’ve been wanting to get one to play around with, but I’m glad I waited until this new version came out as it seems to far more capable
It was actually a gift I believe it came from Amazon. That’s what I would recommend. You can get a starter kit for around $70 that has a case, power supply, preloaded SD card, cables, etc. You don’t have to get a kit, but if you don’t make SURE you have a power supply that can do 2 amps or the Pi will underclock itself.
Thanks!
