CONTENTBOX-542 Add bot protection for hits + session management

Hello,

one of our guys started to work on this, content stats enable/disable and bot patterns are implemented today.

Stats are still logged in the content table, we want to move this to a new table.

So what would be the right way to…?

  • add new settings
  • migrate stats to new table

Is there a guideline how to generate a patch or would some of the Cold/Contentbox guys take care of?

we have finished this,
so stats are moved to a separate table now.

The question which remains open is:

  • how to create a patch?
  • how to name the patch? version number?
  • how to add new settings?
  • how should we transfer the old stats from the content table to the new stats table, just by raw sql???

And… do you want to review the changes first on our github repo or should we push it to your github repo?

Sorry for the delay on this, we refocused on migrating to coldbox 4 and also our new UI skin.

Can you send us a pull request to the development branch, so we can evaluate it and incorporate it.

Hi Luis,

thanks for getting back, I have created a pull request
I was not sure what the best way would be to added new settings and move hit count to new table.
Can you please outline how to do this then we will prepare it as well

yes, we need to add a few settings including default values for bot recognition.
I have seen how it looks in the patches folder, but I’m not sure who will do the whole patch?

Sorry Gunnar, we are preparing the release of ColdBox 4 for next week, so this has consumed us. We already talked with Joel to start strong on this development after next week once we release.
