I am using the version included in the ColdBox repo.

I added ImplicitViews = true to my coldbox.cfc and that fixed the issue temporarily at least.

did you update and then try? Did you reinit the application. The implicit views should be set on application start via the loader.

The files that get written on installation are:

Application.cfc to change it to production mode
config/ColdBox.cfc to generate safe passwords
