Can you share the code that outputs the divs? I assume it is some sort of loop?
Perhaps I’m far misunderstanding the issue, but is there a reason it can’t be this simple?

Sure, but please remember that this works the way I need it to work. The only thing that I am trying to establish here is that when the page is loaded the default is set to the style that it needs to distinguish it as being the default on which is the default.
But that condition is only on initial display only, please remember that. Because everything else works the way I need it too.
