Yes you are pretty close, again, there are tons of ways to do the nesting of the package.handler.action because you can create any conceivable route for it. However, by default you can do /{package}.handler/action .Thus, the period can be placed there. That is why the translate argument can come in handy if such cases arise, although odd. I would prefer to create some kind of other mappings for it in my aliasing.
