Skinning admin modules

Hi Group,
Did you guys have IE8 friendly admin theme?
Thanks,
Jojo M

If there are bugs in the admin with IE8, I would suggest putting in a ticket and/or submitting a pull request. It’s probably just that all of us use Chrome or FireFox so we didn’t notice

Will do thanks

With only 1% of the entire world using IE8, is it worth supporting it?

According to this site, it’s 1/5th of all desktop traffic.

Thanks!

which site is that?

I can confirm Brad’s position that IE8 is still significant.
My broad research shows stats as low as 3.6% and as high as 20% (which he just quoted).
Until XP is officially unsupported by Microsoft, these numbers will not change drastically.
A year from now, we can confidently pass it by, but not yet.

Dang it, the contents of my clipboard didn’t make it…

One problem with browser stats in general are that some sites count unique views, and other sites count unique users. Some sites also only report their own hits like W3, which is probably frequented more by web types. It’s hard to get solid number for browsers. I’ve found it’s best to take stats from your own user base on your site. At my previous job, we serviced a lot of government and education and we had to support horribly old versions of IE for a long time :frowning:

Thanks!

Yeah I don’t trust stats. GA shows IE7 as 20% of my traffic. Yet if I go to my own stats, I find that those using IE7 or IE8 are mainly Spammers or people trying to get backlinks added to your site.

Once you remove those figures from the market share, the results are very different.

And don’t forgot, the agent can be spoofed so even someone using IE8 could be actually a bot running on your site.
