[ColdBox 4.0] [WireBox 2.0]: NOSCOPE vs. PROTOTYPE

Hi folks,

On http://wiki.coldbox.org/wiki/WireBox.cfm says, “NOSCOPE or PROTOTYPE is a prototype object that gets created every time it is requested.”

Those “noscope” and “prototype” scopes, are they equivalent for creating a transient object?
I was also wondering, from where “prototype” name comes from? Any reference/history behind it? Just curious.

Thank you!

Yes, they are for transient objects. I’m not sure of the origin of “prototype” objects, but it appears Spring (a popular Java ioc library) uses it

Thanks!
