CommandBox Documentation

Luis and I are moving forward with the CommandBox documentation as a GitBook. GitBooks are comprised of markdown files stored in a GitHub repo and can be:

  • Viewed online
  • Turned into a static HTML site
  • Downloaded as PDF, MOBI, or ePUB
One of the coolest things is that the community can submit updates and additions to the book via the standard Git pull request process. Just fork the repo, made edits with the Windows/Mac book editor, commit and pull. Please check it out and provide any feedback:

Also, please help us spread the word to those interested in CommandBox who haven’t tried it yet. I just finished the Getting Started Guide yesterday:

And for anyone interested in seeing how it’s made, the Git repo for the book is here:

Thanks!

Link is broken…

Where? We just changed the domain and I updated everywhere I could find. I’ll fix whatever is still broken but you have to tell me where it is

Thanks!

I think he meant the links in your previous post: http://lmajano.gitbooks.io/commandbox-documentation/content/ and http://lmajano.gitbooks.io/commandbox-documentation/content/getting_started_guide.html

Brad: Also the “Viewed Online” link here: http://www.codersrevolution.com/blog/commandbox-documentation-now-on-gitbook

Francesco: I think this is what you are looking for? http://ortus.gitbooks.io/commandbox-documentation/content/

Ahh, I didn’t realize he had replied to a post. Since there was no reply at the bottom of the E-mail I assumed it was a new post. (I use E-mail primarily, not the Google Groups website.)

There’s nothing I can do to edit previous E-mails I’ve sent. I already checked with Luis and since the domains are hosted via GitBook we have zero control over them to put in redirects, etc. Once we moved the book the link is just a 404 and there’s nothing we can do about it.

Thanks for pointing out the link on my blog. I updated the part of the post that showed the links but didn’t realize I had linked the “Viewed Online” text. The correct links are on the Ortus site as well as my blog post here:

Yes I was referring to link on the groups post. However I have found documentation links. Thanks.
