[CommandBox-git] Not in Gzip format

Hi guys,

I’m trying to build commandbox from github on windows 7 x64, Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_60-b19) on this file: http://integration.staging.ortussolutions.com/artifacts/launch4j/3.4/launch4j-3.4-win32.zip.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Cristian

what error you get?

Sorry,

I was doing 3 things at the same time when I posted this: -)

The error is “java.util.zip.ZipException: Not in GZIP format”.

Cristian

For now I tricked the build process by downloading the launch4j zip from your repos and unpacking it in the build directory.

Cristian

I updated it.

Did you get this working? Also note you don’t have to build ComandBox. You can also just download the binary for your operating system and run it.

Our alpha builds are here right now:
http://integration.staging.ortussolutions.com/artifacts/commandbox/1.0.0/

For instance, on a Windows machine that already has a JRE installed, you would want the “commandbox-1.0.0.win.zip” file which unzips into an exe.

Thanks!

I have to say I have been out of the loop for awhile, but that is so neat. Now it really feels more like a grails environment…

If you don;t mind me asking I notice it said something about a cut down version of CFML engine or something similar. Yet I don’t see any binaries for this, am I missing something or it really is that light?

Yes,

Eventually I fooled the build process to think the .jar was already downloaded. I know about the binaries but I want to have an environment where I can learn and play with this. There is not much info for now considering the ALPHA stage. Also it’s not clear to me what is cfdistro and how it is used. (Except the fact that it’s a great resource to learn ANT :p).

Anyway, I tried also the binaries and I’m having another issue:

The box.exe crashes after starting the embedded server with a HTML dump output of this error:

Page /Users/crisp/.CommandBox/cfml/system/Bootstrap.cfm [D:\Users\crisp.CommandBox\cfml\system\Bootstrap.cfm] not found;

I think somehow the embedded railo cannot find the commandbox files.

This is only happening on my Windows machine. I tested the binary on another Windows machine and it works fine. Also works on a Mac :frowning:

Cristian

Yea, the build process is still in flux.

As for the exception, I have no idea what that could be. Brad any thoughts?

> I think somehow the embedded railo cannot find the commandbox files.

That is a known issues on Windows right now. The solution is to place the box.exe on the same drive that your user directory lives on. So, if your user dir is on the C: drive, put the box.exe somewhere on that drive.

Here is the ticket for it:

> Also it’s not clear to me what is cfdistro and how it is used.

CFDistro is a library written by Denny Valiant (who helped us build CommandBox) We are currently using it to help with our build process, but may simplify it down the road to make building a bit more streamlined and have less dependencies.

This reminds me of some weird Fusebox 5 issue with the same setup, project on a different drive than the framework code

Thanks for the info, I try changing the location of the box.exe.

Also I see that Luis patched the windows build (fix for windows build · Ortus-Solutions/commandbox@6172106 · GitHub), I try that also on a clean install.

Thanks

Actually, that commit is unrelated. The issue should be resolved now though. We found the bug in the Java loader class. In theory, if the build is working correctly it should have pulled the new version. re-download the binary, delete your .commandbox folder and let us know what happens.

Thanks!
