Hey everybody!

I hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Years! Here at Ortus Solutions, we are now working really hard to get a public beta going. So be in the lookout for updates and testing is needed.

We just committed lots of updates like:

  • Permissions Manager

  • Roles Manager

  • Author Management improvements for permissions and a-la-carte permissions and roles oh My!

  • All of the Admin interface is now secured with enterprise level permissions

  • Improved Installer

  • Can now do full or semi URL rewrite setups for you

  • Modifies the routes.cfm for you according to routing enablement

  • Setups all permissions and roles for you

  • Updates the Application.cfc orm dbcreate levels to “none” once installed
    We have one more commit for security which will be our virtual event firewall. It will default to protect al incoming events according to default ContentBox permissions, but it will be also a nice UI where you can add and modify the incoming firewall rules.

Hello,

I just ran through a fresh, first-time install of ContentBox. I ran into a couple of hiccups, so I thought I’d pass my notes along.

NOTE: I pulled the latest changes from github today, Jan 7.

  1. initial setup form: password field should be type=password

  2. upon setup submission, error reading fullrewrite form value. change line 30 of ContentBox\modules\contentbox-installer\model\InstallerService.cfc to setup.getFullRewrite() (patch attached)

  3. after install is complete, line 43 of Application.cfc is set to dbcreate = none, WITHOUT quotes, causing a "Variable NONE is undefined. " error

Thanks for all the work on ContentBox! I’m excited to see this progress!
