New ContentBox Theme - Bootstrap, from Twitter

Hey folks!

Just wanted to let the list know that I just uploaded a new ContentBox theme to ForgeBox - http://coldbox.org/forgebox/view/Bootstrap-from-Twitter

It’s very much a work in progress, and currently has some out-of-the-box optimization for web, tablet, and mobile.

Feedback appreciated!

Thanks.

(Your welcome Dan Vega!!)

Nolan

Awesome! Glad you like it. Twitter really put some serious work into Bootstrap. Did you see how the nav and content reformats for mobile when you resize the browser window?

I have some ideas around building widgets that integrate with some of the various Bootstrap features. The problem though would be how do you package up those widgets to go along with the theme? What do you think about a feature where in your theme folder you also have a widgets folder where you can drop your widget CFC’s in. That way when the theme is imported the widgets could also be loaded into the system?

The only risk I see with something like this though is if someone had installed a theme, made customizations to the theme widgets, then the next upgrade of the theme would overwrite those customizations. Regardless, I think this would be a great way of handling packaging widgets with a theme.

Thoughts?

Nolan

Hmm, interesting idea. Create a ticket for it.

Hi Luis,

Cool. But I still don’t have the ability in the Assembla space or Github to file a ticket. Did you change my perimissions?

Thanks

Nolan

I just added this layout to GRAPE Stack, it is now included with the default install of ContentBox. A couple of issues, the pageNoSidebar.cfm seems a little funky, you have style.css and default.js in there, I think those should be boostrap.js and boostrap.css. I forked your repo and fixed them.

Otherwise, AWESOME! Let me know when you push updates!

Nope, it is now open for anonymous and user watchers in the support area, not the ticket area

Hey Jim!

Awesome! Thanks for adding it into Grapestack, as well as fixing those issue. Yeah, there were a few CSS/JS issues I still have to get to so thanks for forking.

Feel free to push the updates any time. This is my first public repo. Do I just need to merge those changes in?

Cheers,

Nolan

When I get back later I’ll submit a pull request

I will have to check it out…speaking of though I have a base code template that I use for all ColdBox projects. It is all script and uses boostrap for the layouts / views and comes with an admin module. It also has some loggers predefined, a custom request context decorator and error handling. I was thinking of releasing this so you could just drop it in your application templates folder, thoughts? Anyone want it?

Dan – YES!

Why not add it to the core application templates?

Awesome Dan. Is the admin mobile optimized with bootstrap as well?

i am all about adding it to the core Luis! Let me put it up on Github tonight and we can get comments on it, improve it and then add it to the core

No nothing like that, really basic as a starter template. We can improve upon it though

Having issues pushing to github at work today, will get it up tonight.

Sorry for the delay but this is up if anyone wants to grab it
