Per site permissions

In another post, @kevin-r asked about per site permissions.
@jclausen stated it was likely going to be a feature in the next major release.

I have 2 questions, please…

  1. Any reasonable guesses on when this might be please?
    (I don’t care what the answer is - just evaluating the "Do I wait for your next release because it isn’t too far away… or do I found some other way to solve this, because I need it sooner than your expected date?)

  2. Is there a way to do this now?
    (With the warning - I am BRAND NEW to contentbox - so I have no inherent knowledge of what it can do and how it does it)
    It seems like I could perhaps do it with permissions and groups - where I restrict a site to a group?

Gavin, I am working on it. I am just about to take a 2-week vacation and will do more when I get back.

Unfortunately I am only part way through a possible solution. This was done for my own site so may well not be what gets used eventually and has no unit tests and is only part complete, but the comments on the branch say something of what I ma planning and you are welcome to try it and leave me some comments if you want.

Thanks for the reply - sorry it has taken me some time to get back to you.

I have been so busy with “normal” work and life - that I haven’t even had a chance to look through your repo - or do any further ‘cintentbox/cbsecurity’ learning…

I will reach out as soon as I mange to get some time.
