Priority/Security Patches

Hi Guys,

I was reviewing the BoxLang features on the plans page.

These 2 things stood out to me on the community edition:

Priority/Security Patches X
Security Notifications X

Can you elaborate what this means exactly for Community Users. I was discussing BoxLang with a server admin and these were the first 2 things he mentioned.

Security Notifications

We will have dedicated support and communication channels if you are part of the + subscriptions. You will be notified of any type of vulnerability immediately through our customer support channels (emails, slack, support) that open-source users will not have.

Priority/Security Patches

Like the majority of professional open-source projects, licensed customers have priority over everything. That includes priority patches for bugs, security, and features.

We do a lot that is open and free. If you are a subscriber and support the project, you will have a high priority on certain things.

That makes sense.

And to confirm, the Community Edition users will receive security patches, but they will have to wait longer for a Community Edition update?

And depending on the severity of the bug I imagine you would release an update as soon as possible for both editions?

Yes. That’s correct. Some patches will be immediate and some will take a little more time.
